Burns Supper on 9 February 2007 The Masonic Hall was packed for the Lodge's 30th annual Burns supper with well over a hundred brethren present. The RWM filled the role of chairman for the night and made a good job of what was not an easy night. The haggis was piped in and addressed in a very able manner after which we had the Selkirk Grace from the Lodge Chaplain. After an excellent meal the company sang "There was a Lad" with great enthusiasm. We then enjoyed an informative and humorous Immortal Memory followed by a funny Toast Tae The Lassies. All this was interspersed with some excellent singing of Burns' songs and reciting of his poetic works. The highlight was "Holy Willie's Prayer" and the singing of "A Man's a Man". After another 3 toasts to the Artistes, the Visitors and Lodge 919 the evening concluded with the singing of "The Star of Rabbie Burns". As the evening wore on the order grew worse which marred an otherwise enjoyable evening.
